Education and Outreach

At. St. Editha's, we are committed to seeing children and young people in our community flourish.

Through our staff and trained guides, we provide memorable and enjoyable learning experiences, which are multi-sensory, interactive, and can be individually tailored to suit your particular needs. We work with schools, educational institutions and groups to develop learning outcomes, in advance of your visit, so that students and staff know what they will have learned, achieved, and experienced by the end of a visit to the church.

Our helpful and friendly guides and staff deliver visits which are effective, memorable and friendly. They strive to give students the best opportunities for learning outside the classroom.

School Visits

We are pleased to welcome school groups throughout the year. Most schools opt for a general "discover the church" tour, which explores key features of the building as well as associated creative arts activities suitable for both KS1 and KS2. More specific requirements can be catered for, if required. We can generally cater for groups of up to 60 children. Please contact us for further details well in advance of your intended visit so we can tailor your visit most effectively.

Tour Groups

St. Editha's is open every day and we are able to offer short, informal tours to visitors on a regular basis. If, however, you are bringing a group and would like a more comprehensive guided tour, that can be arranged with prior notice. We have an excellent team of history experts to make your tour really memorable. Tours can be given on a particular aspect of the building (e.g. stained glass), or a particular period of the church's history and heritage.

We ask for a nominal donation per visitor for a prearranged tour - please contact us for further details.
